Orientation Course

Orientation Course for the new international degree-seeking and exchange students is designed to make the start of the university life as smooth as possible. You will find different sessions and events to help you settle better. See the Orientation Course photo gallery from August 2024.

Spring semester orientation course takes place on February 6-7 at Jakobi 2, room 226. Jakobi 2 building is right next to the university's main building. Further details about the orientation course will be provided in the end of January.

Orientation course topics and presentations

We have requested various speakers from different fields of expertise to share their knowledge and talk about different aspects related to settling down, living and studying in Tartu. In this section you can find recorded videos as well as slide presentations. Answers to all kind of practical questions about banking, housing etc you find from Welcome Centre`s website.

Welcome bag

Welcome bags
All new international students will receive a tote bag on the orientation course. Students staying in Pärnu, Narva, or Viljandi will get their bags there. Students who cannot attend the orientation course or arrive later can pick up their bags from the Tartu Welcome Centre on Ülikooli 17, across the street from the university's main building.
